Research Team

The research unit is headed up by investigators Dr Lawrence Barnes and Dr Susie Keast who are supported by a broad team compromising of Nickie Donlin (Senior Research Nurse), Marie Goodwin (Research Nurse), Rachel Thurlow (Research Nurse), Hannah Kinsman (Research Administrator) and Helen Waterfield (Clinical Research Assistant)

The team has a wealth of research experience being active in Phase II, III and IV studies for over 20 years. Lawrence has been Chief Investigator for the UK on 2 previous studies. The team has undertaken research in a wide range of clinical areas from cardiovascular disease and diabetes through mental health and dementia as well as immunisation studies in adults and babies.

We are very used to running studies that include having provision of blinded and unblinded teams. We have consistently exceeded our targets in recruitment in the majority of our studies over recent years and have been national top recruiters for a number of previous studies.
